The Video Department Manager role is to oversee the video department at TourDesign Creative “TDC”. These duties include managing and overseeing the production of all video marketing content in conjunction with the Creative Director, collaborate with sales reps and clients directly on revision/approval process and act as quality control for the department. This position is a key resource to the Creative Director and will assist him in maximizing optimal creative output from the department.
Managing and Overseeing Production of All Video Projects
Direct and supervise day-to-day management for nine staff members across three departments: Video, Markets, and Distribution
Review and create demo orders with production direction and client requests
Work with sales staff to obtain pertinent information needed to build effective marketing materials
Research and organize production elements such as footage, logos, and art
Delegate projects to video editors based on editing strengths and workload
Review all projects prior to delivery and handle any necessary project revisions prior to final approval
Create and implement new procedures as new products are developed
Monitor and maintain digital archives
Prepare, track, and oversee department budgets and individual project budgets
Take on the role of video editor when necessary
Maintain and update all editing software and equipment across departments
Responsible for participating in all internal management meetings
Speaking on behalf of the video department
Bachelor’s Degree preferably in Media Production or related field
5+ years of video production experience
2+ years of project management experience
Proficient in Avid, Adobe After Effects, Media Encoder, Premiere and Photoshop
Familiarity with both broadcast and digital video across different platforms
Good judgment and ability to make sound decisions under tight deadlines
Must be able to deliver clear and concise direction and communicate effectively and tactfully with people at all levels
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
