Sixty, the interactive TV company, today announced a new partnership with Unified Streaming, the forerunners in creating smart video streaming technology, to enable operators to provide Ease Live powered rich and deep interactive cross platform streaming services. Unified Streaming is Sixty’s first streaming partner and will enable its broadcaster and operator customers to have greater flexibility and power in reaching their audiences across multiple devices and platforms.
By integrating Sixty’s out-of-the-box graphics solution, Ease Live, with Unified Streaming’s Unified Origin streaming solution, broadcasters have access to the best possible tools to deliver interactive and immersive viewing experiences across all streaming formats, including Adobe (HDS), Apple HTTP Live Streaming (HLS), MPEG-DASH and Microsoft Smooth Streaming. Unified Streaming’s Unified Origin solution enables broadcasters and content owners to stream media content from one unified source to multiple clients and devices, and includes additional features such as content protection, restart TV, time-shift, catch-up TV, subtitles, and multiple language and audio tracks.
“The combination of Sixty’s on-air graphics technology and our expertise in delivering cost-effective and efficient video solutions will play a highly influential role in delivering smart, interactive video streaming technologies to a host of viewers all over the world,” said Simon Westbroek, VP Global Sales, Unified Streaming. “Through our collaboration, broadcasters will be able to deliver highly immersive and exciting innovations across all streaming platforms, devices and codec-types, maximising both viewer and outreach programme value. We are delighted to become Sixty’s first streaming partner and together, we look forward to enabling multi-platform viewers access to the best possible viewing experiences.”
“With increasing competition and greater consumer demand for flexibility to determine how, when and where they watch content, the challenge of delivering engaging viewing experiences across multiple devices and platforms is an enormous challenge for broadcasters and operators,” said Kjetil Horneland, CEO of Sixty. “By partnering with Unified Streaming and leveraging its highly versatile Unified Origin solution, broadcasters around the world will be able to enjoy the power of our flexible, interactive streaming technology across all streaming platforms and devices, giving today’s viewer the most immersive and captivating viewing experience available.”
