Pinky Weber is an award-winning professional doodler, muralist shmuralist, zine queen, and donut enthusiast based in — you guessed it — Brooklyn.
Pinky’s work has been internationally exhibited and she’s also received shout-outs from both Communication Arts and American Illustration over the past several years. Most recently, she’s been sweetening the streets of Brooklyn with a 19 ft. donut mural that she created alongside Christian Hooker for the Starr Street Project. Other clients in her professional Rolodex include: The Boston Globe, Anheuser-Busch (Bud Light), Kellogg’s (Pringles), JR Cigars: The World’s Largest Cigar Store, National Geographic, American Express, Time Inc., The Metropolitan Museum of Art, THE WEEK, mental_floss, Gregorys Coffee, and The Shakespeare Theatre.
Like many in New York City, she’s a transplant, having migrated from San Francisco with a wiener dog in tow — but don’t let the West Coast thing get to you! She earned her street cred by graduating from art school as a Dean’s Merit Scholar with a BFA in Illustration from Parsons the New School for Design in ’14.
For extra credit, Pinky joined forces with Scholastic to build and teach illustration courses for teens. Expanding on a national level, her classes have been featured at the Department of Education and also received sponsorship from organizations like the NAACP and the Herb Block Foundation. She’s also scoring brownie points as a founding member of the Crybaby Collective — a labor of love that makes her a lot happier than the name might imply.
