NAB Show 2020 Pavilions Previews is a series of articles designed to give broadcasting professions a glimpse at what to expect on the Las Vegas show floor and what will be highlighted at the various attractions, pavilions, and theaters featured there.

To learn more about the Connected Media|IP pavilion, I talked to Neil Nixon, the Managing Director of BPL Broadcast Ltd. “BPL Broadcast Ltd is the company that jointly owns and operates Connected Media|IP,” he told me. “I have been with the company since 2014, working with my colleague Ben Gill to develop and grow this signature destination at NAB Show.
“Connected Media|IP is the solutions destination at NAB Show that explores the underlying technologies enabling audiences to receive, discover, and interact with content across any device, anywhere. It is perfectly placed within NAB Show to demonstrate and discuss IP-focused technology including IPTV, OTT, streaming, mobile, social, and cloud with a focused and engaged audience. 2020 will continue to build on Connected Media|IP’s successful formula developed over previous events, accommodating more exhibitors and an enhanced seminar programme delivered across two purpose-built seminar theatres. The location of this signature destination at the heart of the most relevant technology area¾and in arguably the busiest hall at the show¾will ensure that the 2020 event will see the continued growth of Connected Media|IP. I then asked about the origins of the Connected Media|IP presentations at NAB Shows. “The first Connected Media|IP took place at NAB Show 2013,” Nixon explained. “From a fairly small event within the North Hall, it has grown to be one of the main signature destinations of NAB Show. Connected Media|IP has helped NAB Show remain the most important event within the global broadcast technology market.
“Now in its eighth year, Connected Media|IP is an exclusive destination at NAB Show – a signature ‘event within an event’ focused on helping organizations deliver connected content experiences. Nixon wrapped up our interview by elaborating on Connected Media|IP’s ambitions for the future. “Connected Media|IP will continue to evolve with the market,” he said, “providing a vibrant and relevant focus for all ‘connected’ technologies at NAB Show. We will continue our steep growth curve into the 2021 show where we aim to be 30% larger than we are at the 2020 show, attracting more exhibitors, hosting more speakers and panel debates, and attracting an even larger and more diverse audience.”
The 2020 NAB Show will be held April 18 – 22, with exhibits open April 19 – 22, at the Las Vegas Convention Center.
