If you haven’t registered for your #NABShow 2020 pass, what’s the hold up? Is it your boss? This year’s NAB Show offers a variety of registration options, so you can create a custom learning and shopping experience to suit your needs and budget. Provided below is just a sprinkling of educational programs open to all registered attendees Sunday, April 19th-Wednesday, April 22nd:

BIRDS of a FEATHER: NAB Show Birds of a Feather program is back with expanded options to learn, discuss and connect with fellow content creation professionals. There’ll be two full days of meet-ups hosted by leading organizations, guilds and associations. Expect lots of talks and conversation about hot topics and shared passions around content creation from preproduction through delivery. BONUS PROGRAMS:  Featuring #GalsNGear: Tuesday, April 21st: The goal of #GALSNGEAR is to ensure women in the technical fields of media production get high level networking, access to gear and the latest industry technology, and visibility at major industry events. Taking Streaming Video to The Next Level: Monday, April 20th: In this special NAB Show breakfast forum, video industry experts from across the spectrum will assess the streaming video market, evaluate the latest entrants, examine the major challenges they face and discuss how the industry can reach the desired goal of OTT Video 2.0.

MAIN STAGE: NAB Show Sunday Kick Off: Jim Gaffigan LIVE! To celebrate NAB Show’s brand-new schedule and Sunday floor opening, we’re kicking things off big at the Main Stage in North Hall with an exclusive evening with Jim Gaffigan as part of his “The Pale Tourist” comedy tour. Following Gaffigan, join us for drinks & bites at the NAB Show Sunday Kick Off Party in the Silver Lot!  Sunday, April 19th from 4pm-5pm  

NAB Show Welcome: Join us as NAB President and CEO Gordon H. Smith welcomes attendees to the 2020 NAB Show, the world’s largest and most comprehensive convention encompassing the convergence of media, entertainment and technology. This session will include Smith’s State of the Broadcast Industry remarks, a keynote conversation with Federal Communications Commission Chairman Ajit Pai and the presentation of the Distinguished Service Award. In his address, Smith will highlight 100 years of broadcasters’ ingenuity, public service and innovation, as well as their timeless commitment to providing the most trusted news, a lifeline during times of crisis and the music, entertainment and sports that keep us connected to our communities. In addition, Smith will address the policies impacting the future and success of broadcast radio and television stations. NAB will honor Jim Henson, the artist, innovator and visionary creator of the Muppets, with the Distinguished Service Award posthumously. The award will be accepted by two of Henson’s children who continue to run The Jim Henson Company, Brian Henson, chairman of the board, and Lisa Henson, CEO and president. FCC Chairman Pai will join Smith on stage to discuss the issues before the FCC that impact the broadcasting industry, including spectrum policy and media ownership.  Monday, April 20th 9am-10am

Returning to the Moon: The Camera is the Mission: Join NASA Administrator, Jim Bridenstine, for this special NAB Show keynote presentation to discuss the upcoming Artemis mission set for 2024. Every historical and iconic moment that we celebrate from the Apollo missions is remembered with an image… with a video clip or a broadcast transmission.  When we return to the moon, the camera is not extra. It is a part of the primary effort. The camera is the mission.*Special thanks to the Society of Motion Picture & Television Engineers (SMPTE) for their support of this session. Monday, April 20th 3pm-4pm.

NAB: We Are Broadcasters Celebration:  Every day, local radio and broadcasters inform their communities, help neighbors in need, provide a lifeline during emergencies and deliver the most trusted news and favorite entertainment. The We Are Broadcasters Celebration honors local radio and television stations’ critical role in our communities and their ongoing commitment to innovation to better serve their listeners and viewers. Highlights during this celebration include the presentation of the TV Chairman’s Award for significant achievements in television, the recognition of 10 stations for their tremendous year-round commitment to community service with the Crystal Radio Awards, and the presentation of the Engineering Achievement Award for radio and television to individuals for their outstanding accomplishments in the broadcast industry. The NAB Crystal Heritage Award will also be presented. Tuesday, April 21st 3pm-4:30pm
