The BEA Research Symposium: Political Communication, Culture and Society will focus on the very expansive concept of political communication, is designed to shed light on the processes, contents, and effects related to myriad forms and vehicles of political communication. Whether involving legacy media, print or broadcast media, new and social media platforms, or face-to-face discussions, political communication today has shaped how we understand the world around us, our place in it, and ultimately, how we engage with it politically and socioculturally. This year’s spotlight aims to increase the dialogue between the academy and the industry to help scholars build new partnerships and expand existing industry relationships, develop curricula in such a way that the insights gained from theory feed into practice, and identify research gaps and foster collaborative research projects with industry partners.
