Production Assistant I

Screens audio content such as press conferences and play-by-play events for utilization in over-the-air and online programming, assists audio producers, generates story ideas, provides research materials, occasionally produces show elements. Also may operate control board for live or pre-produced programming.

Responsibilities
-Mostly handles screening and editing of actualities, interviews and game highlights for inclusion in show content and digital platforms.
-Operates control board for talk shows and other radio programs as needed.
-Occasionally assists in the preparation of editorial material for ESPN Radio on-air and/or online programming; works with radio content staff or independently to compile background information and audio, for on-air talent and producers.
-Contributes ideas for stories and production elements at production meetings.

Basic Qualifications
-Strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills required.
-Minimum one year experience in broadcasting environment.
-Deep knowledge of sports essential.

Preferred Qualifications
-Familiarity with computer terminal operations a plus.
-Past experience with edition actualities and highlights.

Preferred Education
-College degree in Communications, Journalism, or related field.

Required Education
-High school diploma or equivalent.
