PARIS, MIAMI, SINGAPORE, SEPTEMBER 01, 2016 – TV Novo Tempo, one of the largest coverage religious TV networks in Latin America, has deployed ATEME’s high efficiency KYRION encoder and decoder to power its terrestrial and satellite primary distribution feeds to Brazil and the rest of the region.
Based on the ATEME fifth Generation STREAM compression engine, the Kyrion encoder and decoder provide the best baseband video quality at minimum bitrates. This solution has been designed for contribution over satellite and IP networks, with added value features such as ultra-fast-boot, ultra-low latency, and ABR output.
“ATEME high efficiency encoding mode enabled TV Novo Tempo to include more services within the same bandwidth,” said Mario Fonseca, project coordinator at TV Novo Tempo. “With ATEME Kyrion encoder/decoder, we are now able to deliver the highest video quality while reducing our contribution OPEX link.”
Gustavo Dutra, Brazil’s country manager for broadcast at ATEME said: “Our Kyrion solution is future-proof, with an HEVC software upgrade option and pay-as-you-grow support: SD to HD to UHD, and MPEG2 to H.264 to HEVC. Novo Tempo is deploying the best-in-class solution while ensuring the future of its service with ongoing video quality enhancements.”
