EMERYVILLE, CALIF. – Advanced Systems Group (ASG), a leading West Coast video and film integration firm, will explore the expanding use of 4K for professional video applications at its annual workshop, “Initiatives in 4K,” on Wednesday, Dec. 3, 2014, at the New People Cinema at the New People building in San Francisco. Free presentations begin at 10 a.m., and the workshop includes lunch sponsored by Quantum Corp.
“Interest in 4K has been growing for years in our industry,” said Dave Van Hoy, ASG president, “and now it’s no longer limited to digital cinema and episodic television. Real-time 4K production is gaining momentum for live events, high-end video conferencing applications, and more. With 4K branching out, it is more important than ever for video professionals to learn about the challenges of 4K file-based workflows.”
While the 4K world gets larger, many of the same questions and concerns regarding equipment and file management remain. Initiatives in 4K will feature five presentations discussing a number of 4K topics, including acquisition, post production, display, delivery, and real-time 4K live event production.
Registration is free for Initiatives in 4K, but space is limited. Please visit www.asgllc.com/events/asg4k2014 for registration and more information.
