Position: Assistant Audio/Video Engineer

Position Summary

This position will support all broadcast platforms including stadium and arena scoreboard production, TV shows, and any other related programming. The ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to organize, manage, troubleshoot, and execute assignments within a demanding live broadcast environment. This person will assist in the day-to-day technical support of live and pre-produced content production and will assist with regular maintenance and setup of audio/video equipment. This position will report to the Sr. Director of Broadcast Operations. Job Responsibilities

Assists in daily system operation/maintenance tasks for signal distribution, routing systems, audio system, and play out equipment;

Assists with on-going new AV installation projects campus wide;

Actively participates in the support of the video production team including equipment preventative maintenance, setup, and operation;

Troubleshoots technology issues as they arise through root cause analysis;

Maintains digital media asset management system hardware;

Work closely with Stadium Operations staff maintaining campus wide AV installations;

Communicates and works diligently with other departments within the Buffalo Bills, Sabres, and PSE organizations;

Other responsibilities as assigned.


College degree in Broadcasting, Communications or Engineering required. SBE certifications preferred;

Strong working knowledge of production equipment including cameras, lighting, switchers, graphic systems, encoders, audio systems, and routing/patching procedures;

Experience with Dante/Peavey media matrix audio routing, networking, and IP infrastructures;

Knowledge of Telestream Vantage system with ability to design and maintain workflows preferred;

Experience with production and post-workflows, including custom MAM/SAN workflows;

Computer literacy withproficiency in Excel and general office software, AutoCAD preferred;

Requires excellent judgment and the ability to effectively handle complex issues under pressure or during emergencies;

Ability to learn and apply new technology, programs, and specialized software applications;

Aptitude for operating electronic equipment for broadcast and production required;

Must possess excellent interpersonal, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills;

Flexibility in working extended hours including nights, weekends, holidays and travel as required

Ability to set-up and tear down equipment including lifting up to 50 lbs, reaching, bending, stooping, cabling, etc.
