Responsibilities

The Automation Engineer will be responsible for ongoing reliability and growth of Master Control Automation systems for NBC Network, NBCU Cable Network and NBCU Sports Networks.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

•Maintaining a high degree of personal expertise in all NBCU Automation and Media Management Systems, primarily Snell Morpheus/VNM

•Providing level 2 support to internal teams who are tasked with maintaining these systems including 24×7 on-call support

•Providing training and documentation of systems and support procedures to be utilized by the larger engineering and operations teams at the facility

•Investigating issues within automation systems and their integration points to identify systematic issues and root causes

•Following up with vendors to resolve system issues and drive future development

•Testing and deployment of software patches and upgrades in the production environment

•Implementing and configuring additions to Automation and Media Management systems

•Reporting current status of systems and on-going projects

•Other duties as assigned

Qualifications/Requirements

•BS in Engineering/Computer Science or equivalent professional experience

•5+ years of experience supporting IT/Broadcast Automation systems from vendors such as Snell, Harris, Crispin

•5+ years of experience in a 24×7 On-Air or similar type of environment

•2+ years of experience in Project Management

•2+ years experience with server build and configuration

•Experience with Database technologies such as Oracle or MS-SQL

•Experience with IT infrastructures including LAN, WAN, SAN, NAS, Firewalls

•A passion for investigating issues, driving towards resolutions and effective problem solving

•Strong contributor in a collaborative team environment

•Excellent verbal and written communication skills are necessary

•Flexibility with regard to schedule; ability to work a rotating shift schedule including after hours and weekends as required

• Must be willing to work in the greater Denver, CO area

• Must be willing to take a drug test and submit to a background investigation

• Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States

• Must be 18 years or older

• Must be able to bend, climb and lift equipment and packages weighing up to 70 pounds
