In 2017, the Avid Customer Association (ACA) will be hosting its fourth annual Avid Connect event. The ACA, the media industry’s first and most influential customer community, is comprised of media industry professionals who are dedicated to addressing the future of the industry in collaboration with Avid. With over 8,000 members and nearly 200 leaders driving the conversation with Avid and the industry, the ACA has made great strides over the past four years.

The ACA has been instrumental to Avid’s direction and recent launches, having been credited with platform improvements, new service offerings, updates to workflow solutions, investment in future technologies and new product versions such as the upcoming launches of Media Composer (8.7) and Pro Tools (12.7). “It has been a privilege for me personally to be involved with the Executive Board of Directors and a number of the Advisory Councils. The ACA’s contributions to date towards the Avid Everywhere vision have helped deliver the industry’s most innovative, open platform that is helping shape the future of the media industry,” said Dana Ruzicka, Chief Product Officer, Avid.

The Media Industry’s “Can’t Miss” Event

Avid Connect sells out every year and 2017 is expected to be the largest crowd in the event’s short history. Last year drew 1200+ professionals from more than 50 countries and hundreds of organizations. Past conferences have featured Morgan Spurlock, Guy Kawasaki, Paddy Bird, Will Files, Martin Hernandez and Rob Legato. 2017 promises to be our best conference yet with dynamic keynote speakers and media industry leaders from top companies around the world and plenty of time for networking and trying new tools and technologies with hands-on demos.

New in 2017: Expand the Possibilities with the Power of Participation

To celebrate the program’s fourth year, the ACA has recently launched an unprecedented vote that empowers the Avid community, through membership in the ACA, to shape our collective future.  A major milestone for the ACA and Avid, the inaugural vote is an opportunity for the community to collaborate and to directly influence Avid’s technology, product and service offerings.

The ACA Executive Board of Directors has created the voting program and will monitor participation, results and more over the coming months. The Board looks forward to using the vote as a tool to ensure Avid is working for the community. This formalized vote encompasses all aspects of the ACA: The vote ballots have nearly 200 candidates in the areas of products and workflow solutions, nearly 60 questions on emerging technologies that Avid should invest in, and a handful of questions on how Avid can better service & deploy our products & solutions. Participants will be provided with a custom ballot that consists of all relevant areas to the industry areas of that participant. Both current and new ACA members can easily participate by voting online.
