IBC Stand 11.F45 (CueScript Stand)
Power System Now Supports 3G
Amsterdam, The Netherlands • BHV Broadcast, manufacturer of the award-winning Video Ghost, is back at IBC 2015 with an upgraded version of the game-changing power over coax system. Video Ghost is being demonstrated on CueScript’s Stand 11.F45 where the amazing system is powering the Company’s teleprompters.
Video Ghost, recipient of both Mario and Pick Hit awards, offers a safe and cost-effective way to transport DC power and SDI video over a single cable. The video equivalent of phantom power for audio, Video Ghost has been upgraded to include support for 3G. The system runs serial digital video and DC power in one standard coaxial cable, removing the need for batteries or local AC power sources. Video Ghost, a true ‘fit-and-forget’ system, can supply 65W of power at distances of 150m (500ft). It can be used to power devices in locations of difficult access, such as monitors or cameras on gantries or staging towers without the added cost and safety implications of running local mains power. Video Ghost also offers optional HDMI monitoring of SDI video feeds.
Available in a rack-mounted version, big brother GhostRack offers four channels of power over coax in a 1RU x 19″ rack case with integral power supplies and front panel control. GhostRack is ideal for OB vehicles and can be run over passive jackfield systems.
When video is not required, BHV offers EasyDC – a low-cost, long-distance power system for monitors, cameras and LED lights in situations when AC is difficult or dangerous to access. Operating at distances up to 300m (1000ft), EasyDC’s rugged design makes it ideal for field use.
“Our entire ‘Juice’ line – Video Ghost, GhostRack, and Easy-DC – is ideal for short-term or permanent applications including broadcast, entertainment venues, retail establishments and houses of worship,” explains Julian Hiorns, BHV Broadcast’s managing director. “Operational benefits include portability and rapid deployment – important features for mobile productions and difficult locations where monitoring is required, and the flexibility to send or receive video signals and DC power wherever and whenever the need arises.”
