Blackmagic Design recently announced the release of their new update for DaVinci Resolve. The new DaVinci Resolve 12.5.3 is their latest improvement to their color correction and professional editing software program. Blackmagic Design, with offices around the world, is one of the world’s leading innovators in the creation and production of premier video editing solutions, digital film cameras and color correctors, real time film scanners, routers, wave form monitors and video converters for such industries as television broadcast, post production and feature films.
The new DaVinci Resolve 12.5.3 update is available immediately at the Blackmagic Design website for instant download. The program currently is supporting the exporting and the importing of projects from the latest version of Final Cut Pro X. There have also been significant upgrades and improvements to Media Composer interoperability as well as to ACES color science.
Some of the new key features to the DaVinci Resolve 12.5.3 upgrade:
- Compatible with the XML 1.6 format that is currently in use with Final Cut Pro X which means projects developed there can smoothly be transferred to DaVinci Resolve for color correction and then can be transferred back to Final Cut Pro X.
- Now includes Postgre SQL 9.5.2 so as to be highly compatible with the macOS Sierra. There are now improved abilities for ACES and DolbyVision for increased support to color correct, edit and finish projects and be assured the highest possible quality.
- In addition, the new DaVanci Resolve 12.5.3 now includes support for ACES 1.0.2 which includes the ACEScct color space. The ACEScct is a logarithm like encoding of ACES data so that color grading is simpler and more effective. There is also now a huge performance upgrade when encoding MXF XAVC.
Blackmagic Design continues to lead the industry and the world as its DeckLink capture cards ignited a revolution for increased quality and cost containment for post production. In addition, since 1984, the Emmy Award winning DaVinci color correction solutions have been the dominant force across industries.
Blackmagic Design CEO, Grant Petty stated that, “In addition to being an incredible editing and color correction solution, one of the things customers love the most about DaVinci Resolve is that it just works with everything.”
