Chelmsford, Massachusetts – Broadcast Pix™ has announced the immediate availability of its new BPNet™ cloud-based video workflow service. Available as a standalone solution for file sharing, delivery, transcoding, QC, and archiving, BPNet is also integrated with Broadcast Pix production switchers equipped with the new Version 6.0 software.
BPNet will be featured at IBC 2016 (Stand 7.B21), which runs Sept. 9-13 at RAI Amsterdam. One demo station will show how BPNet transfers media files from the cloud directly to the Broadcast Pix live production environment. Another area will show the system’s extensive capabilities for subscription-based clients who do not own a Broadcast Pix switcher.
Built on modern IP principles, the BPNet production ecosystem simplifies media collaboration, transcoding, and distribution by eliminating technological barriers. From any web browser on desktop or mobile devices, BPNet enables users at every stage of media production to:
Securely contribute, share, and collaborate from anywhere.
Senders have complete control over what the recipient sees and permissions granted. Two-factor authentication via text message ensures that only the recipient has access to the file.
Distribute to any platform, from social media to broadcast, with a single click. BPNet makes it easy to convert any video format – no technical knowledge required. Simply select the file, set the destination, and BPNet will transcode to the correct web, computer, professional video, and SD/HD broadcast formats.
Upload from cell phones and transfer direct to any switcher in one workflow, including transcoding to the right switcher codec.
“What makes BPNet so special is that it works as an independent workflow system through a browser-based interface, and it works seamlessly with Broadcast Pix integrated production switchers,” explained Kevin Prince, Broadcast Pix CEO. “The system was designed to break down barriers of creative productivity by eliminating all the complex formatting and FTP issues that get in the way of sharing media files. BPNet makes it easy to upload, collaborate, archive, and distribute media content securely through the cloud.”
BPNet is included with all new Broadcast Pix switchers with V6.0 software, and is available as a free upgrade for systems currently under warranty. Free services include 25 GB of cloud storage, transcoding to BP format, and automated show backup. Additional options and storage are available on a subscription basis.
