Production Assistant/Editor

– Support production and post production process and help producer harmonize workflow on a number of instructional videos and programming.
– Utilizing modern, Mac OSX-enabled machine, you will contribute creative knowledge and application of post-production processes.
– Edit screen-cast, archival/found media, live action and green-screen clips in a non-linear environment, export final cuts and upload for quality assurance review.
– Use media transfer and storage workflow to maintain organization and content security.
– Preferred: Although not required, you may find the opportunity more engaging if you have a passion for the built environment, online education and urban planning.
– For the first month, be available for 1 in-person meeting per week at Planetizen’s office.
1. Availability to work 12-20 hours/week, as needed.
2. Adept at non-linear editing with Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut or Avid (Premiere preferred).
3. 1-2 years editing experience. understanding entire workflow from logging to distribution export formats.
4. Must use Mac OSX. Familiarity with third-party media and software for digital video production and distribution, including:
(a) Presentation software (e.g. Microsoft PowerPoint)
(b) Coloring and sound editing software (e.g. Audition, SpeedGrade)
(c) FTP clients and cloud storage management applications
(d) Vimeo and YouTube
5. Suitable equipment and software to perform 1080p DSLR and DVR HD digital editing in your own environment. We will provide additional software as needed.
