Post Production Instructor

1. Teach students how to utilize Final Cut Pro and Adobe Premiere for narrative editing.
2. Instruct students in use of After Effects and Adobe CS5 for color correction and basic visual effects.
3. Teach students how to use DaVinci Resolve for color correction.
4. Introduce basic concepts of color correction, as well as lessons on tracking, power windows and use of scopes.
5. Teach students how to use RED CINE-X for color correction.
6. Instruct students in best practices for workflow for projects originating on 16mm, 35mm, HDSLR, and RED cameras.
7. Explain concepts relating to video compression and formats.
1. Extensive professional knowledge of color correction/ grading.
2. Strong Knowledge of Adobe CS5, particularly After Effects.
3. A strong knowledge of Davinci Resolve.
4. Strong communication and teaching skills – with the ability to convey an excitement for filmmaking and post-production.
5. Understanding of color theory, and what makes a ‘beautiful shot’.
6. Extensive knowledge of video formats and compression – including, but not limited to : x264, Apple Compressor, Quicktime, R3D, and DVD Studio pro.
7. Basic knowledge of web design is desired but not essential.
8. Either an MFA or terminal degree or 5 years of professional experience is required.
