Qualifications:
– College degree with major emphasis on sports, communications, TV production, journalism or mass media studies or work experience required.
– Should have work experience that includes basic video dubbing, editing, research, online databases and familiarity with outside video/film/photo archives.
– Must have strong interpersonal skills and be highly organized, a creative problem solver, team player; good attitude.
Duties:
The Production Assistant will support CNN’s sports show Unguarded With Rachel Nichols production team. The PA must be organized and self-motivated with strong research, writing, video selection and transcribing skills.
Responsibilities include dubbing, basic editing, graphics, logging interviews/video and assisting with any other production needs. Flexibility and time management is key. Individual will provide:
– Handle story research, computer database research and fact checking
– Organize production materials—tapes, photographs, etc. and make and update logs to correspond with those materials
– Perform basic editing
– Utilize CNN s rundown, archive, and search software programs
– Coordinate rights clearances with CNN’s lawyers
– Track music usage
– Logging b-roll
– Transcribe on camera interviews.
– Assisting in the show’s digital and social media extensions
– Coordinating with other groups within CNN & Turner (Operations, PR, etc.)
– Dubbing of Library and outside source video/film materials
– Distribute finished pieces
– Must be strong editorially.
