Spring 2014 Video Production Intern

The BBVA Compass Stadium Broadcasting and Facility Presentation department is seeking intern candidates. This exciting position offers the selected individuals the opportunity to experience broadcasting and in-stadium video production of a professional sports and entertainment organization. Candidates will gain valuable experience in the fast-paced world of sports and entertainment through the execution of a variety of public and private events.

Qualified applicants should be pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Radio & Television, Communications, Graphic Design or sport management. Previous experience with a professional sports team, live events or TV production is a plus. The ability to work nights/weekends, game days and holidays is imperative.


– Support in all aspects of the production process for Houston Dynamo, TSU Football, and third party events, including pre-production, logistics, shooting, and post-production.
– Graphics conceptualization and creation
– Video conversion to conform to requirements
– Organizing, managing and building a video archive
– Assist in TV & Web Broadcast
– Run camera for press conferences and other events
– Assist in LED scoreboard management
– Assist other stadium departments as needed.


Candidates must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he/she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities.
– Working Knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite
– Graphic Creation & Editing (Adobe Photoshop)
– Ability to operate a camera
– Working knowledge of social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Vimeo, YouTube, etc.)
– Video conversion techniques (Adobe Media Encoder)
– Minimal Video Editing (Adobe Premiere)
– Content Management (must be able to organize mass quantities of digital content on video servers)


Candidates will have the opportunity to perform duties listed below during the course of the internship.
– Support in all aspects of the production process for Houston Dynamo, TSU, and Third Party Events, including pre-production, logistics, shooting, and post-production
– Support all marketing initiatives, campaigns, programs, events, appearances, etc.
– Organizing, managing and building a video archive
– Working knowledge of all confirmed events for BBVA Compass Stadium.
– Press conference room set up for special announcements as well as game/event day media events.
– Other duties as assigned.

Candidates will receive college credit and must provide proof of school enrollment and internship credit in order to participate in the internship program. Candidates must also have a willingness to learn across all areas of stadium operations. All interns must be eligible to receive college-credit for their hours. This is a non-paid internship.
