CatDV Boosts Muscle-Power In Broadcast & Cinema Asset Management at NAB 2014 (SL5025)

(Stratford-upon-Avon, UK–April 7, 2014) Square Box Systems, the leading developer of asset management systems, will preview major new versions of its CatDV and CatDV Pegasus asset management systems at NAB 2014. The forthcoming CatDV 11 and Pegasus 11 feature support for the very latest broadcast standards, high-end digital cinematography cameras and editorial workflows, and will be shown at CatDV’s booth #SL5025, along with upgraded web client, workflow and online support tools.

CatDV11 preview: Under the spotlight, CatDV 11 is a major step forward in the on-going evolution of the CatDV product line. It features a 64-bit architecture and a brand new playback engine supporting the latest broadcast formats and native RED Epic footage. These are enabled by the addition of player plug-ins for Quicktime, Libavcodec (the technology behind VLC and FFMPEG) and RED. The MXF wrapper option is also extended to include RED metaclip support. CatDV 11 also features enhanced support for large installations with global metadata fields. At the same time CatDV 11 delivers key usability improvements: including the introduction of colored labels in search results, to help make finding media even easier.
