The Chinese based broadcast and media giant Jiangsu Broadcast Corporation has launched it’s new 24 camera, double-side expansion OB van which offers an amazing 29 workplaces within the confines of an 18-wheeler! The 4K OB Van works with 16 HD cameras, 4-4K cameras plus the added luxury of  4 wireless cameras. L-S-B Broadcast Technologies worked along side local partner NDT which ensured the Virtual Studio Manager (VSM) implementation for this new era mobile production vehicle!

The coach builder ASGB, Sony China Professional Systems Group and the NDT Group had a joint work relationship in the development of this modern state of the art 4K masterpiece. The VSM is running on two separate servers in master-master configuration, using the VSM’s unique redundancy concept for the highest fail safe measure.  A third server is used for monitoring gadgets using L-S-B’s own Ember+ protocol and the vSNMP application. The VSM software gives quick touch functionality and operation, and the 19 VSM hardware panels gives full control and individual configuration to the Operators and the Engineer in Charge (EIC).

The OB Van’s VSM has full access to the Evertz Xenon router for crosspoint routing and to the (2) Sony MVS 7000X JSBC 4K Production Area_300vision switchers for control of Tally, UMD and of course, the crosspoints located in the JSBC 4K OB Van. The audio console draws on a Lawo mc266 MKII with Lawo Nova Core and Dallis Frames which talks directly to the VSM, and handles the crosspoint routing and parameter controls. The monitor wall is rather massive with 8 Sony LMD 42″ (Production A) plus 8 Sony PVM (Production B for 4K) monitors working together with the Evertz VIPX and VIPA multiviewer systems.

For Jiangsu Broadcast Corporation 4K productions will be considered the “norm” and the VSM by L-S-B Broadcast gives JSBC 24/7/365 ease of mind operation!
