NAB Show New York is less than two weeks away, creatives and entertainment professionals from all across will have plenty to be excited about as Clear-Com® showcases its latest intercom system. That’s right, Clear-Com® will have FreeSpeak Edge ™, their newest and most advanced wireless intercom system showcased this October 2019 at NAB Show New York. This will be FreeSpeak Edge’s first demonstration in the United States, while Clear-Com simultaneously presents a variety of its IP-based products and professional intercom communication tools that work to support SMPTE 2110-30.
What Is FreeSpeak Edge
In what is the latest addition to the industry-leading FreeSpeak family of digital wireless intercom solutions, FreeSpeak Edge™ delivers stellar audio quality and enhanced performance for some of the most complex live performance environments possible. Clear-Com‘s newest intercom system allows for the user to have more control and customization options. This flexibility is all the result of advanced frequency coordination capabilities and intuitive design features placed in the system’s transceivers and beltpacks.
The initial function of FreeSpeak Edge™ is based on its ability to fully extract the power of 5GHz technology, which allows it to flawlessly perform in challenging venues and high multi-path environments. The intercom system fully utilizes Clear-Com’s exclusive RF technology, which then works with OFDM to provide an interface immune robust transport layer.
When it comes to FreeSpeak Edge and the limits of audio capability, it delivers the clearest 12kHz audio quality with ultra-low latency. This makes the intercom system highly scalable in having the technology and bandwidth to support over 100 beltpacks and 64 transceivers to accommodate the largest productions. It can provide three bandwidths across a single unified communications system with its combined use of FreeSpeak IIÒ 1.9GHz and 2.4GHz systems.
FreeSpeak II is a five-channel full-duplex wireless intercom solution that is ideal for large-scale, complex designs or specialized applications. In a development period of just five years, FreeSpeak II has set the standard for 1.9GHz and 2.4GHz band wireless intercom operations across various markets. FreeSpeak II requires team members to be untethered and talking in independent channels of communication.
Eclipse HX Digital Matrix
Clear-Com‘s Eclipse HX Digital Matrix supports SMPTE 2110-30 and AES67 third-party interoperability. This edition of the Eclipse HX system’s unique IP toolset provides a range of powerful benefits that include:
- LAN/WAN/Internet-based panel deployment
- Simple configuration
- Unique IP-based control mechanisms with HCI and Logic-Maestro
- The ability to interface and leverage third-party devices
- LQ, SIP, and Agent-IC integration
V-Series Iris Panel
The V-Series Iris Panel monitors and sends communications over three concurrent full-duplex uncompressed audio IP streams. This feature allows for systems to deliver high quality, uncompressed AES67 audio from user to user with significantly reduced latency. Also, the panel is connected to Clear-Com’s natively AES67 compliant high-density E-IPA card. This allows users to deploy up to 64 Iris panels per card. The V-Series Iris panel provides full user-configurable color OLED displays, which help the user label, tally, and port information.
LQ™ Series IP Interfaces
LQ™ Series IP Interfaces are audio-over-IP interfaces that grant users the flexibility to move and distribute audio and communications signals, SIP, and Network Control Events (GPIO) across multiple communication points, which all depends on user configuration. In addition, the LQ™ Series IP Interfaces are geographically-dispersed and as audio and communications devices of any brand or technology type, they can be networked over secure LAN, WAN or even public internet.
