CLEAR® Vision Cloud now runs on AWS

Prime Focus Technologies (PFT), is pleased to announce that its Artificial Intelligence platform, CLEAR Vision Cloud, now runs on Amazon Web Services (AWS). This means CLEAR Vision Cloud, with its patented Machine Wisdom layer, can automatically scale faster using AWS services like Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service (Amazon EKS). This also means faster-optimized processing and streaming speeds for our end users.

“With CLEAR Vision Cloud becoming a leading choice for content enterprises that deliver compelling results, we wanted to give more to our customers,” said Muralidhar Sridhar, Vice President, AI/ML and Global Head of Product Management at PFT. “CLEAR Vision Cloud’s availability on the scalable and secure AWS offers never-before-seen advantages to media and entertainment businesses storing their content on AWS, as they can now process their content from Amazon Simple Storage Service (Amazon S3) locations using CLEAR Vision Cloud. This offers immense business benefits in terms of time, effort, cost savings, and the accuracy of outcomes.”

“This work with PFT builds on our existing mutually enriching relationship,” said Marc Aldrich, General Manager for Media & Entertainment at AWS. “The decision to have CLEAR Vision Cloud run on AWS will offer our customers from the media and entertainment industry fast and flexible access to the cloud.”

PFT recently announced CLEAR Vision Cloud was chosen by ITV, the longest-running and largest commercial terrestrial television network in the United Kingdom, for delivering AI-based automatic segmentation of long-form content. CLEAR Vision Cloud automatically picks up content and runs its sophisticated AI engines to mark the segments with near 100% detection accuracy and 95-98% frame accuracy, even in creative segments. In addition, since CLEAR Vision Cloud is hosted on AWS, it can auto-scale on demand and handle elastic loads at minimal costs while ensuring high performance always.

“I am very impressed with CLEAR Vision Cloud and PFT’s approach to making AI work for us,” said Sonny Hanley, Controller of Content Services at ITV. “PFT understands that each media enterprise is unique in terms of business objectives and nature of the content, and hence the AI solution cannot have a ‘one-size-fits-all’ approach. Their AI experts worked with our teams to understand the challenges and deliver a solution that truly meets the efficiency goals we had envisaged when we commissioned this project.”

At PFT, our media services team has been leveraging AI to deliver customer projects for over three years now. This has also helped us learn more about how AI delivers in unique media and entertainment business contexts and how the models can be tweaked to deliver more accurate outcomes. As a result, CLEAR Vision Cloud produces accurate and actionable data.

Successful customer projects being deployed by PFT include conformance, segmentation, global mastering, forced narration, deep metadata extraction, marketing, content QC, and localization. Read more about each use case here.
