Communications Manager – Nashville Predators (Nashville, TN)

Job Title: Communications Manager

Job Reports To: Director, Communications

Status: Exempt

Major Responsibilities/Activities:

· Assist in day-to-day team media relation and building activities

· Serve as editor in production of team publications (media guide, yearbook, Preds Press)

· Write and distribute media releases and material for website

· Maintain the department’s statistical databases

· Provide assistance to hockey communications on all functions, including releases, press conferences, media availabilities, etc.

· Point person for production of game notes and media information

  • Aggressively pursue new and innovative opportunities with sports media outlets both locally and nationally

· Assist with proactive communications for both hockey and business operations of the franchise

· Extensive team travel during hockey season

  • Contribute to social media content
  • Assist public and media relations efforts for all Business Operations, Predators Foundation, Ford Ice Center, community relations, amateur and youth hockey

· Assist with Bridgestone Arena local communications efforts, support publicists of visiting shows and events as needed

Minimum Requirements:

· Four-year degree in Communications/Journalism

· 2-4 years of experience within media relations and/or hockey

· Excellent writing, editing and communication skills

· Strong knowledge of hockey

· Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and Adobe Suite (Photoshop, InDesign)

· Must work irregular hours, including weekends, evenings and holidays
