The magazine announced today the appointment of Curtis Chan as Senior Editor, adding to the growing editorial team.
Curtis, a 38-year industry veteran of the professional video, audio and information technology industries, will be responsible for covering a wide range of topics including up-to-the-minute news, industry trends, facility and vendor stories, and technology-market focused editorial.

Curtis is the Founder and Managing Partner of COGNITIVE IMPACT and President and CEO of CHAN & ASSOCIATES – two high tech brand marketing, public relations and business advisory firms he started more than two decades ago, and whose clients range from the Global Fortune 500 to venture capital funded startups. His expansive background spans close to 40 years in the broadcast, production/post production, pro audio/MI and storage networking industries. During his career, he was General Manager of Roland’s Pro Audio/Video Division and Vice President of Marketing and Business Development for Centro Corporation, at the time, one of the nation’s largest systems integrators. He was also Division Marketing Manager and Senior Product Manager for AMPEX and National Engineering Manager and Product Manager for Sony‘s Professional Audio and Professional Broadcast divisions.
A serial entrepreneur and philanthropist, Curtis is also an Entrepreneur in Residence and Advisor for the Small Business Institute at California State University Fullerton; Advisor to the Global Waste Research Institute, Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo; Board of Director for the Fullerton College Foundation; past Board President for the Healing Hearts Association; and is a regularly featured speaker at many MBA and Doctorate level lectures around the country. Aside from having been published in the SMPTE, NAB, IBC and AES publications, Curtis has also been a technology editor for Broadcast Engineering and Video Systems; senior editor for Computer Technology Review and a contributing editor to many of the video, audio and IT publications since the 1980’s.
