Barco, a manufacturer of visualization technology, has done it yet again. You may recognize what they do as you sit in the movie theater – with Barco’s premium technology making it happen.
The EC-50 Event master toolset, one of the Event Master series of screen management systems from the Barco Company, is a compact event controller that is very versatile and provides immediate access and excellent situational awareness for many event applications – from the very small events to large complex events, the EC-50 takes care of it.
Designed with a modular architecture, Barco’s technology easily supports future revisions to accommodate user requirements and adapt to field serviceability. Barco’s Event Master platform is a revolutionary concept that places all of the company’s smart technologies into a single box.
“As the perfect extension of the Event Master Toolset software,” explains Andreas Yerocostas, the director of image processing R&D at Barco, “the EC-50 gives fingertip control over source, preset, layer and destination selection, along with a second touch-enabled display.”
The small footprint is what makes it the right fit for most control environments, while, at the same time, packing all the power and durability needed to bring-off the most spectacular of productions.
It is the cross-platform GUI that delivers a step-by-step approach to system configuration and is available from any Mac or Windows-based PC over an Ethernet connection. Both the S3-4K and the E2 screen management systems are very compatible with the EC-50 Event master toolset. It’s really one of a kind.
The expansion beyond the normal number of inputs, outputs and layers available, through the inter-twining of both the E2 and S3-4K processor chassis is made possible due to the modular design of the Event master series.

About the EC-50 Event Master Toolset Graphical User Interface (GUI)
There are 3 main screens of the Event Master GUI, namely:
- 1. System configuration
The first screen to display when you launch the GUI software is the system configuration screen. This is exactly where you add or remove gadgets to the pre-selected systems and change their parameters such as backgrounds, inputs, outputs and destinations.
- Programming screen
This is actually where you build your show by using the programming screen to gather the different elements of your show together. Here, you define the source of your inputs, make changes to layer attributes such as border and size, as well as create user keys and presets.
- Multiviewer
Multiviewer screen allows multiple sources, like inputs, backgrounds, and destinations to be displayed on one, two or more monitors. All you have to do is configure the dedicated Multiviewer, depending on the number of layouts you really need. Up to 4 custom layouts can be created for the Multiviewer.
No doubt, this Event Master Toolset-compatible controller is what you need for that music show or any kind of show or event for that matter. Everything you want exactly at your fingertips, from presets, layers to destinations.
It’s Not Just About Quality – It’s About Cost, too!
The EC-50 Event Master Toolset-compatible controller is quite cost effective, compared to owning a full controller. So, without cost being much of an issue here, know that what the full controller can do, this one can do, too. When someone mentions how much better a full controller is to you, tell the person you’ll pass – because you have a better option – and a great one, for that matter.
The EC-50 packs everything you need in a small footprint, specifically conceived for portability and space-saving requirements whenever the situation calls for it. It’s a small device that’s bursting with the functions and features of larger (almost unmanageable) controllers. When you are behind the scenes controlling your production, you can’t help but to wonder why you’d need a larger system.
The Barco Company has certainly done it again and from all indications will keep doing it for a long time to come. So, for that great event of yours, you’ll need the EC-50 Event Master Toolset-compatible controller. It’s really one of a kind.
