Stand 7.B24, IBC 2022, RAI, Amsterdam:  High performance media storage specialist ELEMENTS will show how its centralised media platform concept delivers maximum operational and creative efficiency on its extended booth at IBC2022 (Amsterdam RAI, 9 – 12 September, stand 7.B25). The potential of the cloud offers the prospect of large structural changes in industry workflows, and the ELEMENTS platform delivers all the benefits with minimal impact on users.

“We recognise that the media and entertainment industry is in a seismic transition at the moment,” said Heiner Lesaar, CTO of ELEMENTS. “What is really important is that the creative user should be able to concentrate on making great content, quickly, using familiar tools and at the highest quality levels, regardless of where the content is actually stored and processed. I am very excited to be able to show, in real-world style demonstrations, the full potential of our new cloud and transition platform.”

ELEMENTS was founded to provide maximum flexibility and efficiency to media workflows in challenging environments like postproduction. Now there are huge practical and financial benefits in embracing the cloud for remote processing as well as storage, and ELEMENTS is extending its proven principles to provide a coherent media platform which seamlessly unites on-premise storage and the cloud.

For the creative user, this means access to content through the media library wherever it is physically stored: the material appears in the appropriate workspace whether it is on premises, at a remote facility or in the cloud. The media library also supports full metadata transfer, meaning for example that a rough cut can be imported directly into Avid Media Composer Da Vinci Resolve or Adobe Premiere Pro.

Technology on show at IBC for the first time include the new BeeGFS operating system, developed by the Fraunhofer Centre for High Performance Computing. This game-changing operating system is benchmarked to provide unrivalled stream counts, throughput and stream count per storage device.

BeeGFS will be shown operating on the new, all-NVMe ELEMENTS BOLT storage appliance. A single 2U BOLT can store as much as 300TB and continually deliver 70GB per second. As well as this stunning performance, the move to solid state storage means it consumes only around a tenth of the power of an equivalent disk-based device, a huge boost to a business’s carbon reduction programme.

André Kamps, CEO of ELEMENTS, added “We are so pleased that IBC is back and we are able to see our European and global friends again. IBC is so important to us that we have tripled the size of our stand since we were last in Amsterdam, to give us the space to really showcase our uniquely powerful offerings.”

ELEMENTS can be found at stand 7.B25. More information on what will be on the stand, and the opportunity to book demonstration times, can be found at elements.tv/ibc2022.
