Foccus Digital prepares for Rio 2016 Summer Olympics projects with partners Soliton and Belden

The Rio de Janeiro 2016 Summer Olympics are set to begin on August 5th and among the manufacturers supplying technology for this year’s games are Soliton and Belden, both of which are working collaboratively with Foccus Digital in Brazil.  Six major Japanese broadcasters, including Tokyo Broadcast System, TV Asahi and TV Tokyo will be utilizing the Smart-telecaster Zao H.265 encoder for live transmission as part of its on-site operations during Rio 2016.  The Smart-telecaster Zao offers a cost effective operation, providing robust transmission over 3G/4G/WiFi networks with exceptional transmission stability and efficiency.

The Smart-telecaster system has been extensively tested at the principal Olympic sites and on-air throughout Brazil providing unprecedented high quality digital video even in the most challenging locations.  The proven performance of the Zao H.265 encoder and lightweight design will allow broadcasters to get to and transmit the essential Olympic events quicker and with much lower bandwidth requirements.
