MONTREAL – 8:00 BRST November 13, 2018– Grass Valley, a Belden Brand, has announced that it has equipped the latest news production studio built by TV Integração, one of the affiliates of the Brazilian commercial network TV Globo. The multi-phase investment gives the news broadcaster a future-ready, flexible and scalable production capability that delivers unmatched storytelling to its viewers.
As news broadcasters face growing demand for more breaking stories, delivered simultaneously across multiple devices, the need for flexible infrastructures and efficient workflows becomes critical to success. To ensure it is able to meet the requirements of today and tomorrow’s mission critical news environments, TV Integração selected Grass Valley’s Densité 3 Frame, the 2 M/E KarreraK-Frame S-series Video Production Center and a Kaleido-MX-48X2 multiviewer, along with the IQ Modular distribution and processing solution to handle interfacing, processing and conversion. TwoGrass Valley Focus 75 Live 720p/1080i Switchable HD System Cameras have also been deployed at the new studio.
“We wanted to build a studio that would meet all of our needs now and as our content services evolve in the future,” said Tulio Moreira dos Santos, director of engineering, TV Integração. “Grass Valley’s solutions provide the agility to adapt to the changing ways our viewers access and watch content. We are also enjoying increased efficiency as our team has more time to concentrate on newsgathering and getting our stories to air first.”
The Karrera K-Frame S-series switcher gives TV Integração’s production team unmatched creative freedom and delivers future-ready capability with multiformat support for SDI or IP, HD or 4K UHD, and SDR or HDR. In the changing lighting conditions of the new studio, Focus 75 Live cameras provide high sensitivity for best performance, even with fast camera movements and short light flashes. With the award-winning Densité solution, the team can simultaneously handle 3G, HD, SD and analog video, and AES and analog audio processing, all from a 3 RU footprint. This combined with the IQ Modular solution, delivers powerful processing capabilities that can easily scale up or down as needed.
“The way consumers engage with news content is changing, with more pressure on broadcasters to get stories to air faster and across multiple platforms,” said Nahuel Villegas, vice president of sales, CALA, Grass Valley. “Added to this, news broadcasters are also under pressure to meet these requirements with no increase to resourcing, which is why efficient, intuitive workflows that facilitate getting timely, engaging stories to air are critical. With this new studio, TV Integração has the flexibility to deliver its services and adapt as demands shift, while keeping focused on the high-value creative tasks. We are very proud to be working with TV Integração on this exciting stage of its development.”
