iSIZE leverages AI to advance high quality streaming with significant reduction in streaming cost
iSIZE Technologies, the first company to leverage advanced AI to enable high-quality streaming at a much lower cost, announces its BitSave precoding technology can now achieve speed performance up to five times faster on Intel’s AI-enabled CPUs, all while saving $176 per hour, per 5,000 streams.
That translates to significant total cost of ownership (TCO) savings for video distribution at similar video quality, as well as a strong economic argument for commercial deployment of enhanced end-user experience. iSIZE accomplished this feat through working closely with Intel to optimize its AI models for Intel Xeon Scalable processors with Deep Learning Boost (Intel DL Boost) and the Intel Distribution of OpenVINO toolkit, powered by oneAPI.
With video streaming TCO dominated by the distribution costs for premium high-resolution content, iSIZE customers, including CSP and CoSPs, can now realize even better cost savings using iSIZE BitSave technology on servers based on second generation Intel Xeon Scalable processors with the built-in AI acceleration of Intel DL Boost.
More than 75-80 percent of video streaming TCO can be attributed to distribution. With the improved bitrate efficiency of BitSave, customers can save up to 25 percent in bitrate, coming to a total of up to $176 saving per hour and per 5,000 streams, with this calculation based on the figures reported in the recent AWS whitepaper. Alternatively, BitSave enables customers to deliver higher quality content (e.g. 1080p vs 720p) at the same TCO. iSIZE BitSave precoding technology uses advanced Artificial Intelligence models and can be easily integrated into an existing workflow. It runs outside the encoder and can work with any commercial and open-source codecs, including AVC, HEVC, VP9 & AV1.
