Responsibilities

The Customer Marketing team is tasked to efficiently leverage and integrate UPHE’s headquarter and field resources in the development of our “go to market” strategies with our customers.

We are a collaborative partner with our Sales, Brand, Strategic Planning, Finance, Creative and Retail Operations teams. We provide customer, channel, and category insights to the organization and ensure that brand strategies, category strategies and promotions for new release, catalog & TV are developed, communicated, and executed with a customer focus.

We also partner with Sales to package our strategies into effective selling stories and ensure that promotions and title information are consistently communicated, and easy to execute.

Market share, Net Sales vs Goal, Trade Spend Effectiveness/ROI and how well our key Customers integrate UPHE strategies into their own go-to-market approach are key measures of success.

Job Duties

  • Serves as the expert for all major retailer’s department resets including managing multiple timelines, title placement and pricing, and all sku level detail
  • Manages the pricing lifecycle, including financial analysis, for all skus in the UPHE library
  • Works with field based Customer Marketing Managers and Sales reps to develop Customer and Channel specific programs
  • Understands key drivers of our customers’ catalog business and ensures that we have the product or promotional plans in place to secure our fair share of these opportunities
  • Works with field based Customer Team Marketing Managers to fully understand key Customer promotion goals, strategies and operating policies and capabilities
  • Conducts weekly program status meetings with Brand Marketing, field based Customer Marketing Managers and Sales reps
  • Works with field based Customer Marketing Managers to compile all retail marketing redemption and incremental cost information for use in Post Event Analysis
  • Works with outside vendors to design premiums, as necessary, and creates and manages within established budgets and timelines
  • Attends Marketing Meetings and Creative Reviews (when needed); forwards all relevant information to balance of Marketing and Sales organizations
  • Ensures all Creative Work Orders are completed as required
  • Provides all needed information and runs all Customer Team’s Quarterly Planning meetings
  • Works with cross-functional teams to develop and manage all Temporary Price Reduction events to drive category traffic and to determine re-price activity to extend the product lifecycle and ensure that we maintain our fair share of space at retail, including the largest Catalog promotion – Black Friday
  • Works with Retail Operations and Catalog Brand Marketing to manage excess inventory levels through promotional activity or liquidation
  • Works with Category Managers, Finance and Strategic Planning to validate ideas and develop program proposals, including the creation and review of Customer Team’s ROI documents.
  • Oversees the development, maintenance and communication of required Sales collateral (i.e., Fact Sheets, Inventory Request Form information, etc.)
  • Obtains Field Sales and Customer feedback for product planning and development, ensuring proper financial analysis and approvals are provided in a timely manner
  • Has oversight responsibility for Competitive Activity recording and reporting, as well as all UPHE Retail Promotional Activity tracking
  • Responsible for training, development and all personnel management requirements for one Assistant Manager

    Qualifications/Requirements

    Basic Qualifications:

  • 5 years consumer packaged goods, retail planning or video industry experience
  • Bachelors degree required
  • High degree of computer proficiency and proven knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint and Word
