About the Position

The Golden State Warriors are looking for a Media Manager to set and execute its technical and media management strategy for Warriors Studio, the team’s video production department. In this role, you will oversee the video/file management and workflow while working closely with editors, shooters and producers so that we consistently deliver timely and quality content to our clients. To do this, you will ensure that footage is readily available to editors and producers by inputting proper metadata on all digital content, organizing and archiving all of Production’s media, digitizing legacy tapes, and fulfilling requests for tapes, DVDs and internet links along with other requests. Avid experience beyond Avid Media Composer is required.

This position reports to the Executive Producer of Warriors Studio and collaborates with all Marketing & Digital groups as well as our internal clients: PR, Corporate Sponsorship, Events, Community Relations, and Arena to help deliver quality content.

This is a full-time position and is based in Oakland, CA.

Key Responsibilities

Manage Warriors Studio media management – Avid ISIS server and Interplay data-base; Perform all routine maintenance on Avid post-production hardware and software

Provide standard methodologies and media workflows for all Warriors Studio productions

Resolve technical issues related to media management with producers, writers and editors; Provide front-line support for Avid/Premier

Manage technical operations of all edit and ingest stations within Warriors Studio

Manage and process all internal and external video and audio requests

Manage video archival system (LTO System)

Oversee Production Assistants and the logging, cataloging and inputting of metadata

Ensure deadlines are met and that videos meet required codec standards

Research new and emerging video and editing technologies

Provide overall support for editing, shooting and production in Warriors Studio

Required Skills

Experience across the Avid ecosystem including Media Composer, ISIS/NEXIS and Interplay

Strong knowledge of video codecs, wrappers and formats utilized in file-based workflows; Familiarity with video file formats and properties, and video transcoding principles, including media asset life cycles in a production environment

Working knowledge of video fundamentals including frame rates, sync and timecode

System Administration experience (Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS)

Proficiency in troubleshooting IP networks, protocols and hardware

Proficiency in managing and organizing video files and transfers across local and remote servers and storage networks

Attention to detail with the ability to maintain accuracy and precision across multiple records

Prior experience in cataloging media assets in one or more large-scale databases

Ability to assess and adjust attention to assigned workflows as needed and provide alternatives

Ability to work in a 24/7 shift based environment, with possible weekend or overnights shifts if necessary

Required Experience

Bachelor’s degree in video or film production

3-5 years experience as a Media Manager in a sports or broadcast facility

2+ years in a broadcast, NOC or post-production environment providing front-line technical support and maintenance

Familiarity with audio and lighting for video, color correction, and editing

Ability to lead large teams of creative professionals and content creators in a deadline driven environment

A passion for new technology tools and strategies
