Award-winning Milk VFX has moved into new premises in London’s Clerkenwell. The new studio will act as the hub for Milk’s hybrid working set up – with a capacity of 200 artist seats – with creative teams coming together at least two days a week in person, and some members of the team remaining fully remote.
Milk’s move to a new home comes as the studio continues to boost its creative and production teams to work across an exciting range of episodic and film projects. These include the much anticipated second series of Amazon’s Good Omens. Milk has also recently announced its partnership with Loud Minds to exclusively create the VFX for new eight part NBC series, Surviving Earth and has recently completed production on new Sony feature The Woman King from director Gina Prince-Bythewood, with Milk’s co-owner Sara Bennett as overall VFX Supervisor.
Alongside these, Milk has recently delivered a variety of work on Netflix/Working Title features The Swimmers and What’s Love Got To Do With It; and Amazon feature Catherine Called Birdy – which have just premiered at Toronto International Film Festival; in addition to Netflix comedy feature Me Time; Amazon feature Your Christmas Or Mine and Amazon Studios/ Left Bank Picture’s upcoming episodic series Three Pines.
Milk has appointed experienced VFX and real-time technology supervisor and virtual production and immersive specialist He Sun (The Lion King; The Mandalorian; The Fear Index;) who joins from Rebellion Film Studios where he was VFX Supervisor and Managing Director. He Sun will supervise Milk’s team on NBC’s Surviving Earth alongside VFX Supervisor and Milk co-owner, Jean-Claude Deguara – bringing his rich, award-winning gaming technology, virtual production, immersive and VFX experience to the project.
He joins Milk along with new hires – VFX Supervisor David Sadler-Coppard (Star Trek: Discovery, Avenue 5 starring Hugh Laurie, Amazon series The Wheel of Time); CG Supervisor Enrico Selmi (Avengers: Infinity War; Doctor Strange) and Head of Rigging and Creature FX – Will Pryor (Aladdin; Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom).
Milk has also hired award-winning, veteran VFX Producer Paul Edwards as Head of Production (Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone; Annihilation; No Time to Die). Paul brings 25 years’ high calibre experience from a career spanning VFX studios from DNEG to Cinesite and most recently overseeing Marvel’s Moon Knight at Union VFX.
Paul is joined by VFX Producers Katherine Smith (Maleficent; Game of Thrones), Marie O’Brien (Fate: The Winx Saga; I Used To Be Famous) and Chaya Feiner (Philip K. Dick’s Electric Dreams, Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children; Paddington).

Milk won an Emmy in 2016 for work on the BBC/Hartswood’s Sherlock; and in 2016 co-owner Sara Bennett became the first woman in twenty years to win an Oscar for best VFX on the film Ex-Machina at the 88th Academy Awards.
