MX1 introduces end-to-end media service platform, MX1 360, and new leadership team

MX1, a global media experience provider services company, is newly formed from the merger of RR Media and SES Platform Services (SPS), this week announced its complete service offering and new innovative, end-to-end media service platform, MX1 360.

MX1, a wholly-owned subsidiary of SES (Euronext Paris and Luxembourg Stock Exchange: SESG), is a global leading media services provider. The world’s first media globalizer works with leading media businesses to transform content into the ultimate viewer experience for a global audience. With more entertainment, more innovation and more impact, MX1 offers a full range of content management, delivery and value-added digital media services. Every day, MX1 distributes more than 2,500 TV channels, manages the playout of over 500 channels, delivers syndicated content to more than 120 leading subscription VOD platforms, delivers over 8,000 hours of online video streaming and delivers more than 500 hours of premium sports and live events. The new company has 16 offices worldwide and operates six global state-of-the-art media centers, enabling customers to reach billions of people around the world.

MX1 has centralized its full suite of next-generation video and media services into its new innovative open media service platform – MX1 360, enabling leading media businesses to manage, deliver and monetize content from a single, hybrid, cloud-based and on-premises service platform.

Positioned at the core of MX1 360 are three main service areas, leveraging the capabilities and global infrastructure of the two merged companies:

Transform – shaping and organising content so it’s ready to be shared in the most powerful way;

Accelerate – providing the tools and expertise to turn content into the ultimate viewer experience;

Globalize – bringing the ultimate viewer experience to the largest global audience.

Avi Cohen, MX1’s CEO, said, “We’ve combined two complementary companies with a purpose to globalize and accelerate the world’s media experiences. Bringing together creative content, unrivalled expertise and our world-class infrastructure, we’re working with our customers to monetize their content as the ultimate viewer experience, enabling them to reach more people, in more places, and on more screens, than ever before.  Our innovative service platform MX1 360 gives media customers a tool for managing and delivering their content, setting a new standard for the industry. And our unique service approach gives them a partner that truly serves their needs – they can focus on creating amazing content, and we take care of everything else.”

MX1’s new senior management team includes members of SPS management as well as RR Media. ”Our new leadership team represents some of the most experienced and skilled managers in the media industry today. Together we are confident that our new company strategy will be effectively implemented worldwide.”
