New Mini Workstation From HP First of Its Kind

Hewlett Packard has recently announced the release of a new mini workstation that has been specifically designed for those industries that rely almost exclusively on computer driven work like the CAD industry. It has been dubbed the HP Z2 Mini Workstation and has been packed with the power and reliability never before seen in such a small and dynamic package. The mini-workstation stands in at only 2.3 inches and the performance and graceful lines will likely set industry expectations for a long time.

The all new HP Z2 has been painstakingly certified for over 200 software applications and has been rigorously tested in the field for more than 368,000 hours. With a highly advanced VESA mounting, the HP Z2 is a mini workstation that will integrate into virtually any office environment.

Jim Wood, Vice President and General Manager of Workstation and Thin Clients at HP said: “The HP Z2 Mini, the world’s first mini workstation, delivers breakthrough power and versatility in a small iconic design. HP redefined the workstation in 2009 with the introduction of the HP Z series and now, once again, is disrupting the category with the new HP Z2 Mini Workstation – the ultimate combination of space efficiency, elegance and power for our customers and partners.”

The Z2 can easily handle six displays and produces more power, at least twice as much, than any other mini PC that is currently available worldwide. The CAD industry wanted to see and use much smaller hardware than what has been the standard but didn’t want to have to sacrifice reliability, overall performance, or acoustics. The Z2 is fully capable of designing anything of any size from downtown office buildings to the smallest of electronics components and products.

The HP Z2 operates on either Windows 10 or Linux and comes with the devastating power of Intel‘s mighty Xeon processors. There is also a HP Z Turbo drive that can manage extremely large files at lightning speed and vaunted NVIDIA graphics that are M620 class. Internal fans are nearly noiseless and the top cover pops off easily so that internal components can be easily accessed. In addition, the Z2 provides file uploads up to 512GB of PCle storage or 1.5 TB of total storage in the unit.

Space, everywhere, will continue to be tight – which means more and more companies will have to turn to smaller and smaller hardware solutions. The Hp Z2 Mini Workstation just may be the solution that your company has been looking for.
