A new interface card from Calrec has enabled seamless connectivity between DiGiCo consoles and the Hydra2 network. The collaboration marks the first joint technology release since the formation of the pro audio group in August 2014.

Hydra2 Interface Card

The Calrec-designed interface card sits on DiGiCo's Hydra2 DMI card in the Orange Box, allowing for redundant connections via fiber or copper like any other Hydra2 I/O connection. This enables the transfer of up to 112 channels of audio between the two systems.

But the link goes beyond mere transport protocol conversion, offering operators added control over labeling, input gain, and I/O switching for phantom power and phase.
