GatesAir has launched an enhanced version of its AirWatch365 managed service, introducing the AirWatch365 Edge Gateway—a new on-premises site appliance designed to improve proactive monitoring and diagnostics for broadcasters.
Service Expansion with Cloud and On-Premises Integration
The expanded AirWatch365 combines cloud-based aggregation with secure, local data collection through the Edge Gateway. This integrated approach aims to help broadcasters maintain consistent on-air performance by providing real-time visibility into their transmission infrastructure.
Available through GatesAir’s broader GatesAir Care program, AirWatch365 offers 24/7 support from a dedicated team of RF experts. The service continuously collects telemetry data, correlates alarms, and applies analytics across multiple sites to identify potential issues before they affect broadcast quality.
Architecture and Functionality
The system uses a cloud-based server as the central aggregation point, while the Edge Gateway gathers operational data from transmitters, exciters, and environmental systems. This includes key performance indicators such as power levels, temperatures, and signal conditions, which are securely transmitted to the AirWatch365 platform.
AirWatch365 supports customizable configurations tailored to broadcasters’ specific needs, including adjustable dashboards and user-defined alarm thresholds. These features help reduce unnecessary alerts while ensuring that critical issues receive prompt attention.
Scalability and Security
The service is designed to scale across various transmission systems, from single stations to multi-market networks. The Edge Gateway ensures secure connectivity to the cloud platform, adhering to modern IT security practices. It also maintains local system operation during network disruptions, ensuring continuous performance with data synchronization once connectivity is restored.
Raymond Miklius, Vice President of Technology at GatesAir, emphasized the importance of this expanded service: “Our focus is on providing broadcasters with a reliable and scalable approach to monitoring and supporting their increasingly distributed transmission infrastructure. AirWatch365 brings together centralized visibility, structured analytics, and expert support to ensure consistent, high-quality on-air operations.”
AirWatch365 will be available globally starting this spring. GatesAir plans to demonstrate the service and Edge Gateway at NAB Show 2026.
