At the 2025 Broadcast India Show in Mumbai, RED is demonstrating its latest cinematic technology, including the newly released V-RAPTOR XE camera and a Cine-Broadcast Module. These innovations aim to enhance visual storytelling and live broadcasting capabilities.
V-RAPTOR XE Camera Launch
The V-RAPTOR XE, part of RED's Z Cinema series, offers a compact yet powerful solution for filmmakers seeking high-quality imaging without the hefty price tag. CEO Keiji Oishi noted that the camera is designed to be accessible while maintaining RED's reputation for exceptional image quality.
Available at $14,995, the V-RAPTOR XE supports various resolutions up to 8K at 60fps and includes an advanced sensor with low-light performance of 17 stops. It is also compatible with RF Mount or Nikon Z Mount, providing flexibility in lens selection.
Cine-Broadcast Module for Live Broadcasting
RED's Cine-Broadcast Module is making its debut at the show, offering live broadcasting capabilities up to two channels of 4K 60P HDR/SDR via 12G-SDI and IP broadcasting. This module supports SMPTE ST 2110 standards and can handle a 4K 60P JPEG-XS feed.
The module integrates advanced features like slow motion, AI/ML enhancements, and real-time 8K 120FPS R3D streaming through the RED Connect license. It also includes an advanced Broadcast Color pipeline for real-time color adjustments in broadcast environments.
Partnership with Nikon
The exhibition features RED cameras equipped with Nikon Z Mount, offering users a wider range of lens options. This partnership enhances flexibility and performance in both cinema and live-broadcast workflows.
RED's presence at Broadcast India also includes recent firmware updates focused on thermal management and media reliability, reflecting the company's commitment to incorporating user feedback into its product development process.
