Conference session to explore cloud-based MCR readiness for mission-critical live operations
Techex, a pioneering leader in live video workflows, will showcase its broadest set of new product capabilities to date at NAB 2026 (April 19-23, Las Vegas Convention Centre, Booth W2267). The company’s modular software platform, tx darwin, arrives at the show with new functionality including consumer multiview for live sports, expanded monetization workflows with SCTE 224 and ESAM, IP-based satellite replacement, native MXL and TAMS integration, and a growing suite of codecs and uncompressed processing tools.
Techex will also host a conference session, “Is Cloud-Based MCR Ready for Prime Time?”, on Sunday, April 19, 10:10-10:30 a.m. (Room N256), led by Product Manager David Edwards. The session will explore how software-defined, cloud-native Master Control Room architectures, built around a compressed-domain-first approach, can support mission-critical live broadcast operations. Scott Kewley, CEO of Techex, commented, “NAB is an incredibly important show for Techex, and we are excited to return with our most comprehensive set of new capabilities to date. As we continue to grow our presence and deepen our partnerships across the Americas, it is clear that broadcasters, sports rights holders, and service providers in this market want speed, reliability, and adaptability. That is exactly what we are delivering with tx darwin and tx edge and NAB is the perfect stage to demonstrate it.”
Consumer Multiview for Live Sports
New to tx darwin at NAB 2026, Consumer Multiview enables broadcasters to create branded, multi-feed viewing experiences that allow fans to follow multiple live events simultaneously on a single channel. Built for live sports broadcast, Multiview helps broadcasters create more engaging viewer experiences while increasing the value they can deliver around premium sports rights.
Broadcasters can flex the number of Multiview channels dynamically to match each event-producing channel’s scale and delivered within the broadcaster’s own infrastructure, giving teams full control over the viewing experience from creation through to delivery.
Satellite Replacement and Affiliate Distribution
As broadcasters evaluate IP-based alternatives for affiliate delivery, tx darwin demonstrates that the move away from traditional satellite distribution does not have to mean compromise. Built on high-performance, SRT-based IP distribution at scale, the platform supports stream format customization for localized delivery, blackout provision, and SCTE-35 adaptation and translation.
With the general availability of SCTE 224 and ESAM support, tx darwin extends beyond SCTE-35 signaling into a broader monetization workflow, linking downstream ad signaling with upstream scheduling systems. Together with tx edge, the platform enables resilient, at-scale signal delivery and localization, while opening the door to more personalized affiliate services and improved monetization opportunities.
MXL and TAMS: Open Architectures for Next-Generation Workflows
Techex is helping define next-generation open broadcast architectures as an active contributor to the MXL project and the TAMS community. Techex is showcasing tx darwin’s interoperable MXL support both on its own booth, W2267, as well as on the AWS booth, W1701, as part of a wider industry interoperability demo, which will demonstrate that MXL is a vital step towards multi-vendor, uncompressed software workflows.
Another important move towards best-of-breed software infrastructure is TAMS. At NAB, Techex will show how tx darwin’s native TAMS integration enables vendor-agnostic, time-addressable content access. Techex’s implementation on the booth shows how it already simplifying workflows and creating new ways of working.
