Off the Fence Expands Global Footprint With New Outlet in Canada

Following the recent unveiling of its exciting new strategy, BAFTA and Oscar-winning production and distribution company Off the Fence has announced it has opened its first Canadian office in Toronto.

Owned by ZDF Enterprises since 2019, and established in 1994, Off the Fence currently has an award winning production office in Bristol and distribution offices in Amsterdam and London.

Heading up the Canadian operations is Off the Fence’s Director of Commercial & Business Affairs Imelda Wiebers. Imelda has over 10 years’ experience in the factual content industry with emphasis on closing a wide variety of agreements pertaining to the international TV production and distribution business, commercial negotiations, and key account management. As part of her role, Imelda manages and oversees the Commercial & Business Affairs department and she works to help grow the company’s business through assessing the legal and  commercial return on intellectual property opportunities.

Off the Fence’s CEO Bo Stehmeier said: “We are excited to have opened our first office in Canada and to be bringing our solid industry experience, unparalleled access to people and places, and fresh ideas to the Canadian market. Off the Fence has a catalogue of more than 6000 hours of programming and has created more than 500 hours of content for a range of international broadcasters including Canadian-based CBC, Société Radio Canada, BlueAnt Media, Bell Media, Knowledge Network, etc. Off the Fence also works with local Canadian production companies such as Infield Fly Productions, Markham Street Films, Parallax Film Productions, Go Button Media, Rotating Planet, etc.
