Piksel, a global leader in building successful online video businesses, today announces the appointment of Scott Williams to the position of Executive Vice President for the Americas. Williams, a former AT&T and Time Warner executive, brings 15 years of digital media experience to Piksel.
In his new role, Williams will lead the Americas team in driving commercial growth across the region and expanding Piksel’s reach across the digital, broadcast, telecommunications, and cable markets.
Fabrice Hamaide, President, Piksel said, “We’re delighted that Scott has joined Piksel and we look forward to working with him. Scott is a knowledgeable pioneer who will help us to bring an additional level of technical expertise to our customers.”
Scott Williams said, “I partnered with Piksel while at AT&T, and was originally attracted to the quality of their people and technology. Piksel is known for excellent professional services, but their collaborative approach to product development combined with their agile approach to design and development allowed us to evolve our customer experience faster, and with better results than I could have ever anticipated.
“Now, officially joining the Piksel team, I’m excited to be part of that focus — especially considering the heavy investment over the past 18 months in bringing to life the Piksel Palette™: a complete micro-services architecture for end-to-end video and media solutions. The Palette allows us to offer our partners a completely flexible product offering with continuous releases and improvements that can adapt to their unique needs and workflows, all with carrier-grade availability. When combined with Piksel’s excellent professional capabilities, Piksel can offer partners what is truly the video and OTT platform of the future: a fully customized customer experience that unlocks the unique value of their content, running on a scalable, low-cost cloud-based platform.”
Williams will also oversee Piksel Faith, which provides video live streaming and other digital services to churches, and Streaming Faith, the world’s first MCN serving the faith-based market.
While at AT&T, Scott filled a variety of roles including management of AT&T’s consumer portal and email service, att.net, uverse.com (AT&T’s TV Everywhere service), and was responsible for the creation of AT&T’s big data platform, T-Data. Prior to working at AT&T, Williams held executive positions with Time Inc., The Weather Channel and Turner Broadcasting, where he was one of the original mobile content pioneers, developing CNN’s mobile products and business across the world.
Williams holds a BS from the University of Miami and an MBA and JD from the University of Florida
