Pixellot, the world’s leading provider of AI-Automated™ sports video and analytics solutions, has been shortlisted as a finalist in the AI and Machine Learning category at the prestigious SXSW Innovation Awards. The recognition praises Pixellot’s streaming of more than 500 games from two MLB leagues with DoublePlay technology, the world’s first automated multi-camera production solution for baseball, and for democratizing access to baseball fans and audiences all around the world.
The long-running SXSW Innovation Awards recognize the most exciting technology developments in our connected world. Those shortlisted have been recognized for developing digital systems that can adapt to changing data, stimuli, and circumstances and replicate learning, problem solving and cognition.
“We are thrilled to have been shortlisted for the 2022 SXSW Awards in the AI and Machine Learning category. Pixellot is bringing live coverage of athletes in 16 types of sports and today we are broadcasting thousands of games every day – 100% automatically,” said Yossi Tarablus, Associate Vice President Global Marketing, Pixellot. “We are honored to have been shortlisted along with other great brands that are helping to push the boundaries in AI and Machine Learning and wish all finalists the very best of luck.”
Pixellot’s DoublePlay uses AI algorithms to track the action on the field of play and judge when to switch angles between the cameras or zoom in or out. This revolution in sports broadcasting is enabling matches that were not previously produced to be broadcast live and/or on demand, providing significant benefits to clubs, coaches, and fans.
The winners will be announced at the SXSW Innovation Awards Ceremony in Austin, Texas on March 14.
