QFF Editor
About the Job
We are looking for an EDITOR for our 4-part docu-series for Shudder, “Queer For Fear”. Description and information is below!
QUEER FOR FEAR is a four part docs-series for SHUDDER about the history of queer people in the thriller genre. From its literary origins with queer authors Mary Shelley, Bram Stoker, and Oscar Wilde to the pansy craze of the 1920s that greatly informed Universal Monsters and Hitchcock, through the “lavender scare” alien invasion films of the mid-20th century and the AIDS obsessed bloodletting of 80s vampire films, QUEER FOR FEAR explores the role of the LGBTQ+ community in front of and behind the camera making the movies that thrill us.
Through this rainbow lens, we will re-examine genre stories not as violent, murderous narratives, but as tales of survival that resonate thematically with queer audiences everywhere.
The project is Executive Produced by Bryan Fuller (American Gods, Star Trek: Discovery, Hanibal, etc) and Steak House (The Mustang, Disney Launchpad) and Directed by Sam Wineman (The Quiet Room).
