POSITION PURPOSE:

KSL NewsRadio is seeking a Remote Technician to set up and operate the equipment necessary to ensure a smooth broadcast of live shows and provide support in other areas as needed by the engineering, programming and/or promotions departments.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Primary technician to set up and operate equipment at remote sites for program-length remotes
Operate studio and remote broadcast equipment as required
Maintain equipment needed for radio remote broadcasts; report technical problems and equipment malfunctions when necessary
Work with Marketing and Promotions Directors to assign proper and/or desired equipment for each remote
Do production and on-air KSL board operation as directed by Program Director
Operate on-air studio consoles and ensure technically excellent and flawlessly timed content for broadcast
Clearly and succinctly communicate regularly with hosts, anchors and producers on upcoming show elements.
Other duties as assigned

REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

Understanding of and familiarity with radio broadcasting equipment
Able to send and receive satellite, microwave, ISDN, cellular and standard telephone feeds
Familiar with computer and digital audio equipment operation
Work effectively in a team environment
Maintain a valid driver’s license and proven ability to safely drive company vehicle or personal vehicle, as case may be, without exposing the Company to serious liability risks

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Receive, process, and maintain information through oral and/or written communication effectively.
Substantial physical movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
Ability to extend hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction with good eye and hand coordination.
Lift, move, and carry up to 50 pounds on occasion.
