Ruige picture monitors chosen for United Nations headquarters #IBC2014

New York, USA, September 9, 2014: The United Nations has taken delivery of
52 Ruige TL-S1850HD 18.5 inch professional picture monitors for use at its
international headquarters in New York. This latest order follows the UN’s
purchase of 73 TL-S1850HD monitors in December 2012.

“The Ruige TL-S1850HD monitors were originally selected after a very
careful comparison of a wide range of displays,” says Jian Ma, General
Manager of Ruige. “They are being used primarily for videoconferencing
which saves a lot of people a lot of time and lot of travel. The UN staff
were impressed by the high quality picture, long term stability and
excellent after-sales support. They also appreciated the ease with which we
were able to customize the displays to allow control via RS-232 serial
ports. TL-S1850HD monitors were therefore the logical choice for this
latest project which relates to the UN’s simultaneous language-translation
activity. ”

“Ruige TL-S1850HD monitors are widely used in television news production,
OB trucks and broadcast playout centers,” adds Tommy Goodson, President of
AV BrandBuilder Corporation, Ruige master distributor for North America.
“They have all the features expected in a high-end picture monitor,
including tally indicator, lateral and vertical scan adjustment, 4:3/16:19
aspect ratio selector, safe frame marker. Power requirement is 25 watts
from a universal mains adaptor or direct to the display’s 12 volts DC input
which has obvious an advantage for production crews working on location.”

The TL-S1850HD is equipped with a wide range of connection ports including
Y/Pr/Pb component in/out, audio in, VGA in, HDMI in plus HD/SD-SDI in/out.
Performance figures include 300 candela per square metre brightness,
1,000:1 contrast ratio, 5 milliseconds minimum response time, 170 degree
(horizontal) and 160 degree (vertical) viewing angles, and 0.3 mm dot
pitch. Installation dimensions are 472 x 332 x 150 mm and weight is 6.3 kg.

*About The United Nations*

The United Nations (www.un.org) is an international organization founded in
1945 after the Second World War by 51 countries committed to maintaining
international peace and security, developing friendly relations among
nations and promoting social progress, better living standards and human
rights. The UN has 4 main purposes:

To keep peace throughout the world; to develop friendly relations among
nations; to help nations work together to improve the lives of poor people,
to conquer hunger, disease and illiteracy, and to encourage respect for
each other’s rights and freedoms; to be a centre for harmonizing the
actions of nations to achieve these goals.

Due to its unique international character, and the powers vested in its
founding Charter, the Organization can take action on a wide range of
issues, and provide a forum for its 193 Member States to express their
views, through the General Assembly, the Security Council, the Economic and
Social Council and other bodies and committees.

The work of the United Nations reaches every corner of the globe. Although
best known for peacekeeping, peacebuilding, conflict prevention and
humanitarian assistance, there are many other ways the United Nations and
its System (specialized agencies, funds and programmes) affect our lives
and make the world a better place. The Organization works on a broad range
of fundamental issues, from sustainable development, environment and
refugees protection, disaster relief, counter terrorism, disarmament and
non-proliferation, to promoting democracy, human rights, gender equality
and the advancement of women, governance, economic and social development
and international health, clearing landmines, expanding food production,
and more, in order to achieve its goals and coordinate efforts for a safer
world for this and future generations.
