SubtitleNEXT’s expanding global presence stems from a 30+year legacy, launching v5.5 at multiple events including Elevate, Intermedia & IBC –
SubtitleNEXT acknowledged as Top Tier platform by Language Professionals
Defined as one of the industry’s most reliable and emergent timed-text subtitling software packages, referred to as the “subtitler’s lifesaver, SubtitleNEXT’s version 5.5 was revealed at a series of successive events recently at Elevate (Toronto), Intermedia Warsaw and IBC (Amsterdam).
Created by Profuz Digital and distributed by PBT EU, SubtitleNEXT delivers to high industry standards, teeming with an array of resourceful tools and features. Available in a single compact application, it punches above its weight and can be put to work on heavy deadline-driven workloads.
Primarily aimed at AVT freelance professionals, through to LSPs, production, post-production companies and broadcasters, SubtitleNEXT is a proven time-saving and profit-making asset to media organisations worldwide. The software supports a plethora of disciplines – translating, editing, subtitle, dubbing adoption, timing/cueing/spotting, verifying layout on text over media, and more.
Preceded by the development of Profuz Digital’s LAPIS, a global business process information management platform, in 2014, SubtitleNEXT stems from this reliable legacy built up over the past three decades. Profuz LAPIS creates scalable customized modules that adapt to all complex business structures, connecting the dots that a business interacts with.
In 2016, the migration of SubtitlePlus quickly followed on to the next level, resulting in the SubtitleNEXT brand. Profuz Digital was then in a position to offer users an entire product line – SubtitleNEXTEnterprise, SubtitleNEXTCENTRAL, SubtitleNEXTAir, SubtitleNEXTLIVEManager, NEXT-TT, Profuz LAPIS and EXEcutor Media Integrator. All unique products based on the core LAPIS and/or SubtitleNEXT technology.
Profuz Digital participated in Canada’s Tech Festival Elevate which celebrates advances in technology and innovation like Profuz LAPIS and SubtitleNEXT. Elevate2019 featured an exclusive line-up with presentations from Viacom, Twitter, including informative sessions by Vimeo, Facebook, and others.
Earmarked as a powerful system of choice for content localization and media accessibility, Profuz Digital’s Managing Director for the Americas, Dessie Nikolov said, “There is growing demand for more simplified, efficiently managed and localized media content cross multiple industries. Features in SubtitleNEXT such as multiple supported video, timed-text formats along with integration of various speech-to-text tools were well received by those we engaged with there.”
Noting other key tech trends at Elevate2019, Dessie added, “There’s growing interest in 360-degree video streaming and for video editing to be more accessible to wider audiences. Demand for authentic storytelling voices was a major theme, including a drive towards engagement and content consumption geared to Gen Z, streamed on platforms such as YouTube. It delivered on its promise to “elevate”, and we were left inspired by talks from many including Michelle Obama.”
SubtitleNEXT’s team contribute to educational initiatives too and were assigned as Gold Sponsors at the 2-day Intermedia Warsaw 2019 Conference, focused primarily on AVT. PBT EU’s CEO Ivanka Vassileva noted, “It was a great space to interact with international researchers, professional subtitlers, students and professors, and rewarding to see SubtitleNEXT formally acknowledged as an established Top Tier platform that professionals now seriously consider for freelancers, universities and media companies. We take note of upcoming trends and suggestions for useful features, some of which were incorporated in the SubtitleNEXT version5.5 demonstrated at our booth. New toolsets, specifically in the field of live-subtitling with “re-speaking” and creative subtitles were applauded.”
At IBC, Profuz Digital’s LAPIS, SubtitleNEXT and NEXT-TT were showcased by PBT EU’s Sales Director Alexander Stoyanov, “SubtitleNEXT’s ability to integrate multiple speech-to-text functionalities, and machine translation tools that improve offline and online subtitling processes were positively welcomed. Profuz LAPIS’ capacity to align with macro workflows and handle virtually any digital assets, impressed many.”
CTO / Founder of Profuz Digital Kamen Ferdinandov stated, “We offer something completely different to what is out there. We are not restricted to one market area; the product applies to every single company and industry. There literally are no limitations.”
SubtitleNEXT 5.5’s new features include Live Subtitling with one or two stages re-speaking with optional multi-station live workflow automation; Integration with Dictation applications such as Dragon Naturally Speaking, Microsoft Dictation, and Newton.
