Suitcase TV has announced a closer working relationship with Zixi. Part of Suitcase TV’s current rapid expansion, the collaboration means that Suitcase TV can offer customers a breakthrough technology that allows content producers to deliver their video over unmanaged IP networks to multiple destinations without any loss in quality, saving on expensive satellite bandwidth or leased lines.

Zixi, supplied in the UK by Cerberus Satellite Services, works by providing a quality of service (QOS) layer on top of the Internet or other unmanaged IP networks. Scalable to multiple locations and millions of users, this video-specific transport layer guarantees delivery of video no matter how large the distance between two endpoints or how little latency is required, given sufficient bandwidth. Because Zixi understands video content, it can intelligently sequence packets to ensure they arrive smoothly and in order. In addition, Zixi manages encoders to ensure they are delivering data at precisely the rate required to maintain stream quality.

Fraser Jardine, commercial director at Suitcase TV explains: “When delivering high quality video over IP, broadcasters are often faced with such problems as latency, jitter, and packet loss. As we will demonstrate at NAB 2015, we are doing all we can to address these issues and, as the leading light in this field, Zixi is the obvious choice to help us make our solutions the best they can possibly be.”

John Gledson, managing director of Cerberus adds: “Acting as, not only, the regional resellers/integrators for Zixi in the UK but as the operator of a global network of Zixi enabled broadcasters, Cerberus is excited to be working with Suitcase TV to deliver a service second to none with no compromise on quality.”

Suitcase TV will be demonstrating its product range at NAB 2015. To arrange a meeting, email, or call +44 2032 897175.
