WHO: Tablet TV LLC, a joint venture between Motive Television plc and Granite Broadcasting Corporation, will unveil the future of portable television at the 2014 NAB Show. Attendees will be introduced to the solution for the first time at a press conference on Monday, April 7th at 8:00 a.m. in the Las Vegas Convention Center press briefing room ( #N242).
WHAT: Tablet TV is announcing the introduction of America’s first broadcast TV service for tablets and mobile devices. The service leverages broadcasters existing content distribution systems to access one of America’s fastest-growing media demographics – tablet users. The press conference will feature Tablet TV’s partners as they discuss the successful development of the service and rollout strategy for its 2014 commercial launch, details on the market opportunity, benefits to viewers and broadcasting partners, followed by a question and answer session.
WHY: The introduction of Tablet TV’s launch is designed to drum up excitement around this new service which is built around three of the most significant shifts taking place in the media landscape today: incredible growth in ownership and use of tablets to watch television, the explosion of VOD and SVOD use, and the growth of social networking connected television. Television is truly a touch away with Tablet TV and its innovative service which benefits both consumers and broadcasters. Viewers across the U.S. within range of a local television signal will have access to watch and record free Over-the-Air (OTA) HD television with no subscription fee and enjoy VOD and SVOD features without a cable, satellite or Internet connection. Additional features such as fully-integrated social television will be available to Internet connected viewers. Broadcasters will benefit by extending their brand and content to tablet users, leveraging their existing digital distribution network, and creating new revenue opportunities, all with no additional capital requirements.
WHEN: Tablet TV press conference – Monday, April 7 at 8:00 a.m.
