The solution enables content owners to secure their pre-release content every step of the way, with HDR support to be added in the middle of 2016
New York, 12 April 2016 – NexGuard (NAB booth SU3424), the leading provider of forensic watermarking technology and solutions and Telestream (booth SL4525) today announced that NAB Show 2016 will see them showcase the integration of NexGuard forensic watermarking technology into Telestream’s encoders, which enables content and media companies to simplify the process of protecting content at the encoding and transcoding stage. The solution demoed at NAB will be expanded with HDR support in the middle of 2016.
This joint solution is deployable now and can be used to provide forensic watermarking throughout the digital media lifecycle. It uses Telestream capture and ingest, encoding, transcoding and inspection as well as automation and orchestration of the entire workflow. The forensic watermarking capabilities are based on NexGuard, the world’s most trusted solution to track the source of illicit redistribution of pre-release, digital cinema, as well as B2B and B2C distribution.
“As the release windows of worldwide TV content distribution continue to shrink, it is more important than ever to reduce the complexity behind the deployment of watermarking throughout the distribution lifecycle,” explained Harrie Tholen, Managing Director, NexGuard. “With HDR on the way, the value of each asset increases tremendously, and content owners need to be safe in the knowledge that pre-release content is secure throughout the typical delivery chain that includes subtitling, dubbing and localizing partners, as well as potential licensees, marketing agencies and press.”
“Since the beginning of our collaboration with NexGuard a few years ago, we have seen customers deploy forensic watermarking at the encoding/transcoding stage. At NAB, we will reaffirm the importance of utilizing an effective method to deter piracy at the source for content owners, producers, providers and all their partners,” said Paul Turner, VP of enterprise product management at Telestream.
Used for over 10 years by Hollywood studios to help track pirates, NexGuard forensic watermarking was recognized for its outstanding technical proficiency by winning a Technology and Engineering Emmy® award at CES 2016, demonstrating the central role of forensic watermarking in the fight against piracy.
