The SONY HDC-4300: Three 4K Image Sensors!

The worlds first 4K system camera to use three 2/3-inch 4K image sensors. The HDC series camera technology provides the ability to use the high magnification wide zoom range lenses (which support the B4-mount) while maintaining proper field of depth for live event broadcasting. The HDC-4300 is capable of 4K/HD operation, with 2x, 3x Super Slow Motion as standard, and with even higher speeds up to 8x available! This allows the user to produce high-quality replays and specialty in program effects. The newly engineered prism allows for ultra-high precision alignment technology when incorporating the three 4K image sensors. This future proofing of the next generation ITU-R BT.2020 widens the color space for master or post production options for tomorrow’s 4K services!

“This camera provides 4K capabilities and a workflow that content producers are instantly familiar and comfortable hdc4300others150120022with,” said Rob Willox, marketing manager for content creation systems, Sony’s Professional Solutions Americas. “We’ve developed an approach that allows the large existing HDC series user base to employ 4K advantages such as 8x high frame rate and 4K cut-out and zoom while using a familiar infrastructure and signal path.”

The HDC-4300 is fully compatible with a wide range of existing products and workflows, including viewfinders, large lens adapters and camera control units. There’s is limited investment in additional accessories, keeping costs and inventory down for the production house.
